From brutto to netto in four steps.
1. Social security (ZUS)
13.71% of gross: pension 9.76%, disability 1.5%, sickness 2.45%. Pension and disability stop once your gross pay for the year passes 282,600 PLN.
2. Health insurance (NFZ)
9% of gross minus ZUS. It is not deductible from tax and you pay it even under 26.
3. Income tax (PIT)
Gross minus ZUS minus deductible costs (250 PLN, or 300 PLN if you commute from another town), rounded. Tax is 12% up to 120,000 PLN a year and 32% above, minus 300 PLN a month if you filed PIT-2.
4. PPK (if enrolled)
2% of gross is deducted from your net pay. Your employer’s 1.5% is added to your taxable income, so tax goes up slightly.
Rates for 2026: ZUS contribution rates, the 30× annual limit of 282,600 PLN, tax thresholds under the PIT Act, minimum wage 4 806 PLN. The calculator is for information only and does not cover overtime, bonuses, sick pay, benefits in kind, 50% author’s costs, joint filing or reliefs settled in the annual return. Good questions. Straight answers.
How much is 10,000 PLN gross to net in Poland in 2026?
On an employment contract (umowa o pracę), 10,000 PLN gross is 7 147.39 PLN net a month for a person over 26 with the standard tax-deductible costs and PIT-2 filed, without PPK. Your employer pays about 12 048 PLN in total.
How much is 5,000 PLN gross to net?
3 738.19 PLN net a month (umowa o pracę, over 26, PIT-2 filed, no PPK).
What is the minimum wage in Poland in 2026?
4 806 PLN gross a month on an employment contract, which is about 3 605.85 PLN net.
Why is my net pay lower at the end of the year?
Once your yearly taxable income passes 120,000 PLN, the tax rate on the excess goes from 12% to 32%. On the other hand, when your gross pay for the year passes 282,600 PLN you stop paying pension and disability contributions, so net pay goes up again. The calculator shows this month by month.
What is PIT-2?
A short form you give your employer so they apply the monthly tax-reducing amount (300 PLN). Without it you pay 300 PLN more tax each month and get it back in your annual tax return.
I am under 26. Do I pay income tax?
Usually not. The “relief for the young” (ulga dla młodych) exempts employment income up to 85,528 PLN a year. You still pay ZUS and health insurance.
What is PPK and should I tick it?
PPK is the workplace pension savings plan. If you are enrolled, 2% of your gross pay goes into it and your employer adds 1.5%, which is taxed as your income. Tick it if your payslip shows PPK.
Is this exact to the grosz?
It follows the official 2026 rates and the way payroll rounds tax. Your payslip can differ slightly if you have overtime, bonuses, sick leave, extra deductible costs or other benefits.
