4 essential steps
Step 1 — Documents & Legal Stay
Start with identification and proof of stay. Some municipalities issue a PESEL automatically when you register your address — ask at your local office (Urząd Gminy).
Step 2 — Banking & Payments
A local account simplifies rent, salary, and everyday transactions. Some banks open accounts without PESEL for newcomers — check requirements in advance.
Step 3 — Healthcare Setup
If you work on a contract or study, you may be covered by NFZ. Private insurance offers faster appointments and English-speaking doctors.
Step 4 — Daily Life & Community
Make everyday life smooth: SIM/eSIM, transport pass, housing, and community. The right network helps you feel at home faster.
